Hi recently taken car to garage for gasket leak they are concerned about vapour from 2 breather hoses which has a v attachment into a bottle ..it fills quickly I have changed the carb to a weber 34ich which came with a pancake filter with no breather attachment ...if I changed to a different filter with a breather attachment (what filter to get?) would this help the prob also there is no pcv valve ...sorry to go on I am a novice completely at the mercy of the garage thanks

I don't think I can help much, but I also have a 34ich on my Saab and have the original plastic (later type) airbox on the top. So the breathers plug into this.
I had to make up a small adaptor ring as the top of the Weber is smaller than the old FoMoCo carb. I can take photos tonight if it would help.
Steve.

Ok thanks I have the old one will take it too the garage cheers cassie

If there is no PCV valve or closed crankcase ventilation system, the vapours have to come out somewhere else...
