Hi,
Could anyone lend me a pair of front springs for a couple of months?
I'm returning my 95 to standard height and was planning to use the springs of the front of my second 95. However, there is a motorbike, a VW chassis etc etc in the way...
The plan is that if I could borrow a pair I will have access to the other car in a couple of months and could return the springs off that one. Obviously they won't be the same springs so this would only work if these are from a spares pile and not required to be the exact same springs.
Happy to pay postage both ways.
Thanks
Gareth

Hi Nigel,
Did the reply I posted make sense. SAAB 900 so insert that in between the other numbers and that's me!
I had a couple of hours spare on Saturday so I re-arranged the lock up and pulled the springs off the rusty 95 and have used those instead.
It would be good to see you though - what time are you in Plymouth tomorrow? I'm at work in the day but around in the evening.
If you were in Plymouth Thurs or Fri I can be at home in the day and you would be welcome over for a cuppa and a poke around some Saabs!
Cheers

The PM system on this forum is badly flawed. Best to put up a disguised email address to ensure your emails get through.
DirtbikerPosted - 19 Sep 2019 : 22:20:19
I've sent another pm - let me know if that works.
I'm free Thursday or Friday next week - I look after my little boy on those days at the moment so we could come over to you or you are welcome over here for a brew and Saab chat. Happy to come to yours though - don't want to put you out as appreciate you helping out with the springs!
Cheers

Gareth am being a plonker! Just altered my email address so pm should work!
rattyPosted - 19 Sep 2019 : 21:41:05
Gareth pm not received! Tomorrow I am not around. Next week is much better for me. Could do with a mobile number? Just thought Karl probably has yours but a long time ago. I have the springs for you from 72ish car. I can deliver to Plymouth sometime next week. so how do these pm's in theory work or how do we make contact without the whole wide world knowing?
DirtbikerPosted - 16 Sep 2019 : 21:39:35
Right,
Back from Copenhagen. Didn't see any old SAABs but quite a few nice old Volvos and more than one Mk1 Transit which I liked.
Also went to a cool motorcycle shop called Motorious where they had a nice old Indian (Scout I think) and a (pre war I think) Harley plus some interest Danish publications featuring over 18 themed photographs. They gave Dirtbiker junior some cool stickers so he was happy!
Anyway, back to springs. Nigel - I have sent you a pm. I'm around and could head over your way on Friday if you're about - let me know if you get the pm.
Cheers
Gareth

Wow - thanks for all the offers!
Canada - probably too far!
Mylespeed - thanks very much for the offer but GU (Guilford I'm guessing - used to live not too far from there!) a bit out of range too.
Melle - thanks, I'll take you up if Nigel isn't in Plymouth anyway - I'll paypal you the post.
Nigel - brilliant, thanks but only if you're in Plymouth soon anyway - I know Melle is always passing the post office!
So, Nigel let me know your travel plans and if you are in Plymouth brilliant but if not I don't want to put you out. I must make an proper effort to get over to see you and Karl and the SAABs but flat out with general life at the moment. Not complaining though, off to Copenhagen on Friday with my little boy for a long weekend!
Cheers All

Wrong. Front springs are stiffer than rears.

Gareth, I have a pair you can have, happy to post.
