Hi Folks,

An email friend of mine is considering buying a Saab 96 located in Leeds.
It is a 1974 model in white reg SGL778M.

Does anyone know anything about this car?

In particular the seller has only had is 12 months so finding the previous owner would be helpful to know more about the car's history.

Thanks,
Steve.

SGL778M shows on DVLA (vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk) as SAAB, registered March 1974.
Date of last V5C (logbook) issued 13/11/2020, so may have just changed hands?

SGL778M not on the SOC forum 95/96 database list.
MOT exp 1 jul 2018. Now MOT free.
Interesting that it's listed as first reg 1 jul 1971.
DVLA vehicle check currently not available so couldn't check anything there.

That for the replies.
The car isn't for me but for someone who contacted me via Email.

I think the interested person plans to view the car but with the UK in lockdown it may have to wait a while.

Cheers,
Steve

The garage was in Gildersome. Not sure on the name but I can have a ride past if you need it.
I did put something on here, if you can access the For sale section from over a year ago.
Where abouts are you ? Have you viewed the car? Where is it ?

Thanks Steven,
I'll pass that information on in case it is relevant.
Can you share the name of the garage (or location if you don't know the name) that could be a possible lead to find out more.

Cheers,
Steve.

I live in Leeds/Bradford area.
There was a white 96 for sale at a local garage which would probably be about a year ago. If per chance it’s the same one, it looked very original and unmolested. Paint was faded, but all added to it’s originality.
