T O P I C R E V I E W | andydeans3 | Posted - 19 Feb 2021 : 15:06:14 I have for some time, been planning to go to this SAAB festival, which will be on from 10th to 12th of June 2022.
It's normally on every 2nd year, odd years. I was there in 2015. Brilliant! It's been postponed to 2022, not because of Coronavirus, but because 2022 is the 75 years anniversary of the founding of SAAB cars.
I am now starting to do some "pre-planning" for this. I was booked on a cruise on the Danube from Budapest to Passau (Bavaria), (a company reunion), last year. which was postponed to this year, which is now postponed to next year. The dates have been around 31st of May to 5th of June, so I'm thinking, take the old 96 across to the continent, find somewhere to stash it in NL, or north of Germany for the week, that I'm on the cruise, then pick up the car and go to Sweden. I could obviously drive it down to Passau (near Munich), still have to find some where to stash it, then hammer it back north again. I'd prefer to fly, or take the train. Sooooooooo, does anyone know anywhere in NL, or northern Germany, where I could pay to safely store the car for a week, under cover. I'm sure there are garages/organisations that do this, and I could spend a bit of time raking the internet, but word of mouth, or recommendation, is always better.

Well I've just found out that the cruise dates have now been confirmed a little earlier than initially intimated, 26th to 31st of May, which is too early in terms of dove tailing it in with the SAAB Festival in Trollhattan. Darned shame.
So, the games a bogey.
I'll do the cruise, go home. Spend a few days getting ready, then head off to the ferry port a few days later. Best laid plans of mice and men, aft gang aigly!

Anton is the guy with the museum that I bought the 900 from and his son Onno runs a classic Saab restoration/spares business a few miles away - both have a fair amount of space, pretty sure they would help if you're stuck. Happy to send them an introductory email, if it would help. Derek

I know, I'm 3/8 German!
There's an excellent train connection between Groningen and Schiphol airport.

Melle. I'm half German, planning ahead comes naturally
It's a long way away, as you say, I'll keep your offer in mind, if this whole thing comes to fruition. My wife and I would fly to Budapest from Amsterdam, to the start point of the cruise, and get a train back from Passau, at the end of the cruise. I really want to go to the SAAB Festival!!!!
