Hi, does anyone know of a suitable replacement for the plastic trim covering the B Pillar.
My trim is broken in several places and covered in overspray so it has to go.
Thanks in advance.
Ian

Update - Half a metre is more than enough.

This vinyl is very thin with virtually no backing. Basically you have to cut it to shape as it curves. With the tape on the B post and the vinyl a bit oversize you cut round the edge with the sharpest modelling knife/scalpel that you find. The sharper it is the less likely it is you'll cut into the paint too much even if that sounds illogical. I didn't make too many mistakes and didn't have to redo either of them. A short steel rule help keep the edges straight. How it's surviving I don't know, maybe Saabo-John out in Oz can give us an update. The whole car spent several weeks in a container in Singapore at temps touching 50º so that's one test it's had!

I knew I couldn't be the only having trouble with broken trim. Derek, your vinyl looks excellent, but how did you get on further up the pillar where it bends slightly? I think I will try the Woody method first. I think headlining is a little thinner and more stretchable than vinyl.

I bought a bit of vinyl from Martrim at Beaulieu (2 weeks time) fitted with double sided tape. Not perfect but quite a good pattern match. Colour is a bit pale. I think I have enough left for another car, if I can find it. Guess that means that someone not to far away will be in touch.......

Hi Woody, yes the door pillar. Your method seems the best way to go, it looks good too.

Do you mean the door pillar? I used spare headlining material to cover it.
