Given that I know I'm going to have a huge number of questions as I move through this I figured the only way is to post as a project.
I purchased the car and it arrived here just a week ago. As could be expected there is more to do than I had hoped for, but truly expected that my "inspection" would not have been adequate, and it wasn't. Reasons for that include, that it was close to me, looked pretty good and the price suited me.
Obviously there were previous "repairs", only a museum piece wouldn't, would it? How good are they? So far not too good in the bits I have found. The usual places seem fair so far, it's the ones I didn't expect that aren't flash.

The floorpan to firewall is sound, as are rear shock mounts.

The front lower left corner of the front crossmember is work of art, if filler is art. Steel content is limited to be polite.

Front guards both have issues. Repairable, yes, but if there were better ones available it might be more viable. So far I'm struggling to undo the fastenings down the A pillar.

The rear rubber things on the leading edge of guards are truly awful, a rubber casing full of wet rust particles.
My local soda blaster has the first set of bits to be blasted and powder coated, the second batch ready to deliver, as are the bumpers and the boot lid handle/light housing to the platers for a refurb.
Not bad for a day and a bit?

Good news is always worth repeating.

Sigfrid is now tucked up in my nice warm dry shed awaiting the end of this time when we are not supposed to go out. While it would be fun to use it for the days when I really have to go to work I do have a daily that I have no love for that's worth almost nothing
There are only now a few tiny things to sort, collectively about 30 minutes work when I get the bits.
The worst thing about it being in the shed is that I lose space for the other projects (Morgan 3 wheeler) and I don't have any off street.
Thanks to all for the help along the journey, it is appreciated.

Yes it was there Rog, but it just expired as there was almost zero interest so I didn't renew the advert.
Obviously when you make it shiny folks have a different view. I'm not saying it's rubbish underneath, because it isn't, the only difference is the paint. Now people are saying how great. Personally I would rather see what is under the paint. I have already had people asking if it's for sale, when previously the same people turned their noses up. As they say "nowt so odd as folks"

Forget that last post- it’s not there now.

I have just been to look! Wow, I am stunned. Have a look on Facebook at Custom Body Repair Ltd, they have done a feature on their page. I hope this link works! https://www.facebook.com/custombodyrepair/photos/pcb.1050405772106015/1050405442106048/

My friendly painter, with my agreement went with an updated version of Carolina blue. Not really, it's just close but a 21st century colour with more "zing". Yes, non original.

Good to see you fired up again Rhys.

ps. I am working on my 96 and those wheel mounting studs that you made up have been extremely useful. Thanks.
