Nigel and Karl (Ratty and Badger on here) trial their cars - heavily modified for the job. I "navigated" for Nigel back in 2015, just after we moved back down here: https://youtu.be/3rgp5zRJwdo

The suspected CV joint failure eventually turned out to be a broken diff!

That’s a possibility. I’ve done PCTs many years ago in a hillman imp. Thought I may have another go but more gently this time in class ‘O’
