Hi all,
I'm wondering if it would be a good plan to use engine flush when I next change my oil.
I think my car has been well looked after in its life and has only about 30K on the clock (which I think is more or less genuine). I've had it for three years, given it annual oil changes with an annual mileage of only about 1K miles. Currently the oil is pretty clear (and that's after almost a year since the last change) so there's no real reason to give it a flush, but is a good preventative measure? Or am I just running the risk of loosening any crud which may have accumulated only to have it move around and block something critical.
Any advice please!

I agree with Cristophe. Take the rocker covers off, or even just have a peak though the filler opening fist.

Hey Joe,
I would inspect the back side of the valve covers first. If there isn't any sludge here, no flush should be needed. In fact, given the description you made, I'd say your engine is clean as a whistle. As long as you use good quality oil and don't let it get dirty, you have nothing to worry about. Only the removal of the oil pan could give you a definite answer but I would wait another 30K to do this.
