Well she made it there and back in one piece!

We had an excellent time, met loads of friendly fellow Saab nuts and saw some amazing cars!

(not sure what's going on in this sonnett's engine bay)

Hope you like the pics, there may be more to follow!

Bought a two-stroke steering wheel with horn push, needs some work, as does the 99 roof rack. Which only just fits, it'll need cutting and welding to make it a better fit and not sure if I should!?!

The 9:38 Sonett has a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system under the bonnet. Maybe the car was converted to being able to withstand E85, explaining the go green slogan? The 9:38 may refer to the ring and pinions that have been made; makes the gears longer.

Just back after extending our continental stay to a few days in France...what a great weekend we had in Doesburg!!!

Best bits for me - the whole social bit I guess, meeting lots of old friends, some of whom I'd not seen for years, making a few new friends and putting names to faces and faces to names, especially Internet names. Oh, and meeting a certain Mr Simo Lampinen who was there representing the Finnish Saab Club...the winner of the 1968 RAC Rally (96V4 of course) is still very much Saab crazy Oh, and finally getting to see the Sonett from the museum, and hearing it howling around the lanes at 6.30 on Sunday morning...actually I could have done with out that bit! But later on when I was ready to be awake, it sounded amazing.

Lots of interesting cars, it was especially good to see so many older Saabs although there was a noticeable absence of the wilder, modern stuff. I guess as a result, even my old bus got some interest from some of the folk what knows their GM Saabs...

Was a bit chuffing hot though, when we arrived on Wednesday I was literally dripping by the time we'd got the tent up.

Many congrats to Tony Grestock for winning best in show with his utterly fabulous 1951 92, I heard several of the continental folk saying how impressed they were with the standard of the UK restorations, and Tony's obviously took the biscuit.

Jason's 96 with the Highgate bad boy exhaust...you couldn't miss it! A few folk were half-heartedly cursing Mark H I reckon , in my tent though it was the 94 being cursed!

Mum & Dad took the Souvenir (the one pictured above) and it got there & back fine, with just a minor idle air leak problem traced to a probably pin hole in the servo diaphragm courtesy of Glenn. Major stroke of luck for Dad was the slave cylinder letting go the day after they got back...

Anyway, great pics here, I'll try to get some of mine up soon.
