Hi All,

Brakes back together, used a nice new fitting kit and some laser cut stainless steel locking tab plates from Malbrads - escellent service as ever!

Hey All,

Had a bit of time and daylight combined last Sunday morning so did a few tidying up jobs then used the SAAB to do a bit of driving around doing jobs and going for coffees!

Parked up out the back of our place.

Spent a previous evening polishing up some hubcaps. Also unbolted the lower mounting points on the front bumper which were pulling it tight at a funny angle and replaced with exhaust bobbins - looks much better now. Also replaced the speedo cable that has been broken for a while and even fitted some carpets. Could do with the rubber mats that cover the inside of the wheelarches - I'll post an ad in wanted...

Next up is to order a new front number plate, a new roof aerial, refit the side trim and then a go at cutting and polishing the paintwork. Not aiming for a show car by a long way but I think it needs polishing to protect.

Cheers

Well, what's this rusty boat anchor doing at work...

It's the original engine from the car.

I can't even remember what's wrong with it but there's probably a clue in this hole that was stuffed with a rag...

I have a feeling I borrowed the balance shaft gear for another engine many years ago.

Plan is initially a strip down and see what it looks like inside.

Cheers

Is there a year date cast in the block under the RH rear water outlet pipe?

Started the engine strip down last night.

Yuk!

And more Yuk!

Remarkably not seized though!

Crank, pistons and all associated bearings in very good condition.

There is a bit of corrosion on No.3 but nowhere near as much as I would have expected. Not a problem as getting bored anyway.

Cheers

Hey All,

Been tidying up the dash this week.

New steering wheel, Formuling I believe. Also refitted the freshly painted glovebox lid (thanks for the tip Woody!) and a 96 badge to replace the broken clock which did tell the correct time twice a day...

Still haven't decided where to put the tacho, I am warming to the idea of a pod but don't want to drill any extra holes, ideas or images appreciated!

Cheers
