| I vote grey not for originality but because I like grey cars and you I don't think you often see grey 7Os V4s.
Your car though so you get to choose!

| Quite a big fan of grey on older cars too It instantly puts them into a certain era without seeing a No plate. Paint choice is such a pain. People like original colours when purchasing, but they're not necessarily the preferred choice when you have an option to respray. I would love to paint Betsy the colour of the Beetle in my 'topic' but can you imagine how many frowning brows there would be "oooh it's not an original colour- off with his head" Be brave and go for what you want. | |

| If the interior and engine bay have never been repainted I would choose grey because it saves a lot of time/ work. If you're just tarting it up for resale I would also choose grey as "originality" apparently benefits desirability. If it were mine and it needed a complete paint job I would consider a completely different colour, perhaps not a Saab colour although there are plenty nice shades to choose from.

| Keep your thoughts coming. The interior and engine bay are original grey but both will want a fresh coat of paint so that won't be the decider. The original, dark red, interior has long gone with just the rear cards and shredded seat left so the interior will be changed to suit (I have a green and dark brown interior I could fit)

| Grey . That has got to be so rare for a J Reg! Grey is a great colour though.
Do the welding, get her running with MOT and spray her Indian Yellow and I would be tempted as a rough hack to play with
I have been looking for another 96 that has been welded and is mechanically OK as much as can be expected so that I can respray it myself in Indian yellow to learn how to spray and have one just for fun and some events that I don,t need to worry about and can learn on. I wouldn,t spray it in two pack as I am not worried about finish and it would be easier to respray any areas that need attention.

| Looks like your order book is full John, let Rhys have it, I already have one to play with. Rhys will give it proper attention, for me it's if I can get three years out of it then use the parts for mine... I'll put the 3k back in the bank... Joking | Edited by - Zagato on 14 Mar 2017 18:05:11 | |

| More "progress" I'm now at teh stage where I can get to the areas that need welding..there are a few more than originally thought but nothing terrible. I have replaced a chunk of the windscreen surround that was damaged by someone fitting a aerial..it had rotted from the inside out. The gearbox and air box will come out tomorrow and the passengers door will also get removed (I have good doors that should save on re-build time). I'm having sills made at the local fabrication shop.

| I really am split on the colour...always liked grey V4's and 2strokes but really like the brightness of the yellow. I even had thoughts about orange today but it will either be yellow or grey.
