Can someone tell me the total overall length in metres, (bumper to bumper), of the Bull Nose SAAB 96?

That will be 4.026 metres (13ft 2ins in old money)- why, are you thinking of getting one ?

A little cryptic, but I think you'll know what I mean.

I was
I would dearly love a stroker. Wrong time at the moment and would have to sell Betsy to make way.

Betsy67.
Ah, now I understand....I hadn't seen this advert. Thanks for the link Chris. Looks a bit rough for the money wanted

Like you, I'd have to sell a car first to make way for it. It's just an idea that's rolling away at the back of my mind.
Trouble is I'm very, very attached to my MGB, I've owned it for 35 years, so it's very close to my heart......The garage it sits in was deliberately made short, just long enough to take the MG, due to the garage facing the wall of the house. That's why I needed to know how long the Bull Nose is. Life would be easier if it had been 4 1/2 metres long...

Ah, um, well I'll just ruminate a bit more, ha ha ha....

As a matter of interest, can someone tell me what is involved in getting UK plates for a continental import?

Now for modern cars I know exactly what is required having imported 2 LHD Renault Twingos since 2001 from France, but it was possible to get a Certificate of Conformity (COC)for a modern vehicle like that, I can't imagine such a thing would be available for a 1960s SAAB 96.
So, in the absence of a COC, what does the DVLA require?

I imported a Two Stroke a few years ago and sold it before I got it legally on the road but at the time I had to inform the DVLA, then get it MOT,d not always but sometimes the DVLA need to inspect the car first.

Don,t sell your MG Andy, you will regret it

Thanks Simon.

I suppose with the fullness of time, once this Brexit folly kicks in, it will possibly become more complicated, and expensive bringing a car in from Europe.

I agree with Zagato, 35 years is a life and a mgb is lovely. Surely you'll find that 1/2 meter.

Hi Andy,
I have parted with a couple of cars that I wish I still have so I say keep the MG, must be part of the family after 35 years! Surely you could find space for an extra Bullnose sized garage...?
Cheers

Dirtbiker - Zagato et al.

I know what you mean, I love that MG........usually when I take it out on a fine day with roof down, (and I almost never close the roof), I have to later visit A&E to have the smile on my face surgically removed!!!!!

This idea of a Bull Nose project is a bit nebulous, just a daft idea that came to me a couple of weeks ago. I'd just love a ring a ding ding two stroke....
Probably won't come to anything!
