| Well, more research and a visit to Malbrad. Stephen suggested it's not a good idea as there are liability issues for selling these kits. Even he can not sell brake parts, or repair brakes as he is not covered by his liability insurance. He gets his done by a brake company, they are covered for such things, and then he can sell complete units repaired, but not the pin sets! | |

| I bought the skandix pin kit and used the hammer to form the other end of the pin to mushroom shape. I think the pin was too short for that kind of operation and the caliper hinge did not move easily enough for proper operation of the caliper. The spring in the caliper was fully pressed and that is why hinge did not work properly.
I replaced the pin with M8 10.9 bolt with double nuts and caliper has worked properly after that. | |

| AnttiK That's exactly the problem I have with my calipers. Too tight, spring fully depressed. See thread below I hope to come to Finland next year for the International.
Melle. Welding might be the way to go, though AnttiK's idea of an M8 bolts locked with nuts, is also good idea. The amount of force exerted by the spring would then perhaps? be adjustable. The nuts would have to be loctited, and perhaps locked with some sort of lock washer arrangement.

| Matt Yeah, I think peening is now out, so to say, Weld or bolt, seems to be the way to go.
Update - I'm going to go down the bolt route. Stainless steel with double nuts, loctite and a circlip for good measure!
