| Dave, Steve and John from Malbrad deserve massive praise for preparing our now silver 96. The black variant was good, the silver car was brilliant. The car flew down the stages, the final drive in the gear box gears the car for acceleration rather than massive top speed but I glanced up from my notes on a particularly long straight in the Falstone stage on Monday to see 98 mph on my trip meter. I quickly looked back at my notes at that point! The grip, handling and speed of that car are amazing. There were many high points in the rally: flicking on the spot lights into a pitch black forest, racing across moorland roads to make up time after hectic roadside service, Lynn's catering, pushing the car and ourselves to the max when exhausted, a few lows: broken front suspension in an extremely fast Kielder stage (wonderfully repaired by the Malbrad boys) and complete electrical failure mid stage (worryingly fixed by Colin "hot wiring" the ignition switch, where did he learn that one?) but maybe the highlight was Colin's awesome driving, especially in the 20 mile stage in Kielder when he caught and passed one of the high powered Mk 2 Escorts. Steve has put a lot of photos of the car build on the Malbrad Facebook site, hopefully he will be able to put some of our in car video on there too. I'm useless with such stuff. I'm no good with social media things, sorry. Nick | |

| Just a heads up that some members of the 2017 RAC Saab Rally team will be at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon on Sat 13th January - it's the Historic Rally Registers club meeting so a good selection of other cars will also be there so well worth a visit if you can make it. | |
