Can anyone please tell me a source of supply for the correct seal? A photo of the correct position of the seal would be a bonus!
Any help or advice much appreciated.

There are two types, depending on model year. One is on the bonnet, the other on the body.

Hi Melle

Many thanks for your quick response

My 96 is a 1972 model
The seal in question is to replace the one stuck on the boot lid. I obtained the current "new" one from Woolies as a nearest match but it is solid rather than hollow which I believe could be causing the gap down each side.

Thanks again

John

My '77 96 has the seal glued to the lid, the '79 96 has it clamped on the boot rim, so change year was 1978 or 1979.

http://malbrad.co.uk/cart/products.php?306 has both types.

I suppose both are common extruded profiles you can get from rubber/ seal suppliers for a fair bit less? Are the later boot lids different or are the seals interchangeable?

Many thanks to you all. The question I raised has now been resolved by buying an exact match from Malbrad but at almost £40!
