I've noticed that the '69 95 produces a strange "notchy" juddering sensation when carrying a load in 4th. Doesn't do this when I'm the only one in the car. Will do this in 4th anywhere from 40 to 50mph, disappears at higher speeds.

At first I thought it was the CVs needing to be greased, but then I noticed it is not related to wheel speed, but engine speed. It will produce the same same juddering in 3rd when loaded, but it is much less noticeable, and as in 4th, disappears once higher revs are reached.

I checked the motor mounts but they were still tight. The engine stay does seem to have a small amount of play in it (the rubber washers are getting a bit out of shape) Could that be the source of the vibration?

And it doesn't seem to be a shimmy, the car doesn't seem to move side to side, nor is the vibration transmitted to the steering wheel as it would if it were a shimmy in the suspension, or unbalanced wheels.

Thanks for any ideas.
