Hi,

First let me introduce myself.
I'm a dutch SAAB v4 enthusiast and own 3 V4's.
A '77 95 (slightly modified), a '73 Sonett (almost standard) and a '79 96 (a dutch lim. edition, waiting restoration).

Since a long time I'm searching aluminium rocker covers like the SAH ones. SAH rocker covers are very rare and when they are for sale, they are not cheap.
Now, I found a company who can make aluminium rocker covers. The problem is they are not in their standard program since the "limited interest" in V4 covers.
To make a batch, there must be interest in a minimum quantity of 5 sets.
In the Netherlands are in total 2 interested. So I''m looking for at least 3 more enthusiast.

This is the company:

http://jrcast.com/

In the website you can see an example of the cologne V6.

The company is in Ireland. So the next problem that the company needs a head, inletmanifold and a cover to make the aluminium covers. Shipping from the Netherlands is expensive for such a heavy package. May be there is an Irish V4 owner to borrow the parts if there is enough interest to make a batch?

Thanks

Hi beta, I sent you an email. Thanks.

Price for one set when a batch of 5 is made, is 155 ponds.
I don't know what the price will be for a larger batch size.
Till now there seems to be little interest. Didn't expect that.

hillbilly, when a batch is made i post some pics.

Hi Jim
That's great, I was going to drop you a line on this, it looks like they are local to you.I will give Henk your contact details if that's ok.
Compared to the S&R prices they seem like good value.

Do they plan to 'SAAB' logo them, 'S&H" logo them or no text?

I might well be interested in a set - I can't stop my standard ones leaking!

Hi Henk
I don't want to hijack this but...I wonder if we should be looking at how much he would charge for a batch of 10? I think pricing would be better if colouring and lettering was the same on all. Postage rates appear high, perhaps post to 1 address in Uk and 1 in Holland. I am local enough to them so could make own arrangements?

Hi Paul,

As I wrote in the email feel free to contact John about further arrangements. The intention is that is making a batch. How I don't mind .
According to his website you can choose your own lettering and you can choose from 3 colors. But maybe it is cheaper as we keep it standard.
Personal I going for the non standard .
Maybe plain is an option so you paint them your self. For my 95V4 I want opal green covers with SAAB V4 lettering, if possible.

Jim, perfect that you will lend the items to the company.

At this time there is interest in 6 sets. So the min of 5 we have achieved.

Hi Henk
I get your drift now , he won't make any covers until he gets enough orders from people to make a batch of 5 !

The covers will look like these;

Note, the covers in the upper foto are not made by Redmond metalcasting.

I have sent John from Redmond metalcasting an email for further information (lettering, color etc.).
