| That's a LOT of rust! Is there any floor left!?!
If you rescue this - my hat is off to you.
Thanks for the pick of the sticker too.

| Melle - just need to notch the sump to clear the bit of old angle and we should be good for an MOT...
Simon - Definitely going to rescue this but purists will want to look away... For me the attraction of this car is that it is too far gone to save really so I can get creative and not feel guilty!

| Right, earlier photos gone with Photobucket but here are a few of how things stand now. This car came as a spares car with my (now sold) 95 and I did have plans to try an experiment with it that didn't require a floor as it was rotten. However, it turns out the whole car is rotten, not just the floor!

The photos clearly show the obvious bits that have rotten away but what is hard to see is that everything is crusty and there are many poor previous repairs.
So with a heavy heart due to space and time commitments I have decided the only option is to strip it for parts and cut up the shell. A real shame as I hate to see these cars scrapped but right now the only option and it has provided a useful source of parts to keep others running!

| Yeah, that is a bit crusty!
As Melle says, I've scrapped better ones than that.
Was trying to think if there was anything else you could do with this (other than cut it into pieces), and the only thing I could think of was either a garden ornament or make the back end into a sofa perhaps.

| No chance of a sofa - missus Dirtbiker believes it harbours tetanus!
Unfortunately we don't have a garden - if we did I think there would be many 'ornaments'...
I had a few hours this morning and it is now in pieces. At the point of having cut the A posts and removed everything at the front and the floor back to the B posts I couldn't help but think Trailer! No time for that though so carried on cutting.
Cheers

| There is an artist who "skins" cars as wall sculptures, he's even done a 96 - could be fun....

| Thanks for the link - love this one of him with a fresh kill!
Left the garage like this yesterday
And got to here with an hour or so this evening
I want to save the axle and rear wings. Surprisingly with a bit of heat all the nuts holding on the axle came off easily. I tried to get the wings off a few weeks ago but following a Mountain Bike Crash in November I haven't been able to do anything involving lying down (can't get up again!) so with the back of the car this way up I can get to everything to attack the seized fixings.
Here are some more pictures of rust!

| I cut up a roof section with the headlining still in place and set fire to it! I assume it was the glass fibre sound deadening that caught. It took hold very quickly and created a LOT of thick black smoke, but thankfully it was outside and not too far from a hosepipe!
Just thought I'd mention it, in case you were thinking of cutting your roof up. | Edited by - UK_Sub on 06 Jan 2020 10:54:31
