Hello guys,
I have to change the bearings of my alternator but had no luck finding their size or standard reference. The Saab number seems to be useless there. Does anyone have any info about this? My car is a 1979 model equipped with a Bosch 55 ampres unit.
Nice weekend to all.

I recently overhauled two starters and found diagrams with part numbers at www.bosch-classic.com I ordered all the parts a I needed through eBay, much cheaper than Bosch dealers. Bosch sometimes used funny sizes (neither metric nor imperial), probably to force you to buy their over-priced parts directly from them. If you have a lathe you can turn standard Oillite bushes to size.

Thank you very much, Melle. You're always so helpful! I'll have a look at this site right away. Incidentally, I just removed my front silencer box and I can't believe that this can be done in a different (and simpler!) way than those given both in the shop manual and the Haynes.
Nice weekend to all.
