2019 Roger Albert Clark rally is nearly upon us.
There are four Saabs entered this year: 96 2 stroke of Steve Higgins, 96 V4 of Gavin Chisholm, Magic's 900 and our 96 V4.
It should be an amazing rally, the snow is already falling in Wales! Realistically we can do without snow, its not the rally cars that struggle but all the marshals and support crews that cant get to the stages. The H&S people don't like it!
We have 300 stage miles over 5 days, lots of stages in the dark, some very late finishes and early starts. Proper rallying!
We were at Malbrad today dropping off some parts but most importantly reassuring the Malbrad boys (!) that may wife is baking and cooking way more than they can eat for the rally. The challenge is on!
All details of stages and spectator info is on the RACMC web site.
There's always some good support out there for the Saabs, the more the merrier

Please get someone to take lots of photos, it would be great to cover this rally in the Saab Enthusiast!

Sadly my V4 won't be making it this year, and the 99 will be pressed back into service. Had one or two problems with gearchange and a couple of running issues which forced me to conclude it would be risky relying on it for five days. Very disappointed as the car has been a labour of love for several years now, but delighted to be back in the 99 and looking forward to the Stages.
As Nick said, it's always great to see the support the Saab's get on the event, if you see us in the service park come and say hello.

Good luck to everyone taking part. Gavin - shame you're not taking the 96 but definitely the sensible choice - next year!

Sorry to hear the 96 isn't behaving but at least you have the 99 to fall back on Gavin. Unfortunately I won't be out spectating this year, I could only do the Saturday and looking at the stage times I can't justify making the long trip North for just one stage and no chance to get to a service area. In the "old days" it was possible to take in 2 or 3 stages plus service areas in the one day but now with limited access to stages and the timing of events it is no longer possible. Really sorry to miss this but I wish you and all the other Saabs the very best for the event so good luck and don't forget to post your stories after the event!! Maybe the next one in two years time they will take in the Yorkshire forests and I can sneak in like we used to!! Kielder is not so accessible and not so many interesting spectating areas since the building of Kielder water. Many memories of spectating around Plashetts which is now in the middle and the bottom of the lake!!

All Saabs still going, in Scotland today and final stages through Kielder tomorrow. Great to see the rapid progress of the 2 stroke and they are using maps not pace notes for the stages. Proper old style rallying!!
