I've found a place near Glasgow that will re-line your clutch plate for £75 +VAT. I've just had a pair done.
3.2 mm thick lining, 8.4 mm overall thickness, which is in spec according to my manual.

Given all the problems with SACHS clutches, riveted the wrong way etc, I was thinking it might be a good idea to see if any others want a clutch plate re-lined, and get a batch done.

I gave them two of the original design plates, with only 4 springs, that do NOT have issues with being riveted the wrong way round, though I'm sure they'd also do the 6 spring SACHS plates as well, wrong rivets and all.

E mail me on andydeans3, then Gmail.

They should be able to fix the incorrectly riveted plates, it's nothing complicated.

Melle.
If I get any wrongly riveted plates, I'll ask them.
They may want a correctly riveted plate to work from.

Hi Andy Questmead do all my competition clutches and can make just about anything. Organic relining done on my 96 plate this week was £62.60 posted back to me next day. Their work is excellent and materials of the highest quality. They are also the most helpful people to deal with.

I went to this outfit in Cumbernauld, because I could drive over there in an hour, and do the same picking up.
They did a good job, though perhaps I should wait till get the whole caboodle back in the car on Tuesday, before saying that!

I've seen that photo on the thread that you have highlighted.
Chap in Spain posted it I think.

If I have cause to go back over to Cumbernauld, I may take my wrongly riveted SACHS plate, and the photo, to see if they can re-rivet it for me.

Hi All,
Just purchased a refurbished friction plate from Precision Clutch Components Ltd for £30 + postage + vat.
Great service and looks good,

Cheers,

Shoestring.
Have you got a photo?
Does it have 4 or 6 springs?
If it has 6 springs, are the 2 parts riveted together, the right way round?

Hi Andy,
Just fitted the disc, it has 4 springs and looks identical to the original F & S item,

Cheers,

4 springs means no problems with rivets!
