I saw this and thought it looked ace. Two of my friends when I was a teenager had Suds and 33s so messed around with them quite a bit. Very fun cars to drive. If I had a barn and a spare couple of grand...

Well, if nothing else, it proves it fits.

Have they done anything other than drop it in though (is it connected to the original Saab gearbox) and where does the radiator and exhaust go?

Presumably lighter and more powerful than the V4, but would it just eat through a Saab gearbox?

Just my thoughts, I hope someone manages to get this up and running :)

Have a look at picture 12. He has the Alfa box in there with the shifter in a glass fibre tunnel. I have previously though about seeing if one of these boxes would fit but keep the V4 engine. Would give you a five speed box that could take more power. Having said that these Alfa’s were more about being light and nimble than big power, not to different to a Saab!

You may have seen this already, but if you wanted 5 gears, this guy has used a VW Gol (the Brazilian Polo) gearbox mated to his highly tuned 1.8 V4!
