Hi,
I’m sure I have seen a photo of a transporter which has been in an accident and lost a few two strokes.
I can’t find it now, anyone have a link?
Cheers

Hi Dynorog, sorry for being thick but do you want parts for a stroker, not sure what 128522 means but did I tell you I'm thick?

The photo was taken in the winter of 1963/64 on the E3/E70 road through Skaraborg, Sweden. There was a railway bridge that was too low for high loads so a detour on a narrow, winding side road was needed. Accidents were so common that a local rescue company used to park one of their trucks there when weather was really bad.
Could have been worse, apparently only three of the new cars suffered any body damage.

Thanks for the info folks.

I have a colleague and friend who gets very excited by trucks and loves a Scania and he sent me this one:

As soon as I saw it I thought of the one in the snow but couldn't find it. The others are great too!

Cheers

This pic popped up on Instagram yesterday - so thought your colleague might like to see another one...

First photo is interesting in that Sweden was still driving on the left, at the time it was taken.
Change over to driving on the right, was in September 1967.

Even more interesting Andy is that they always drove with left hand drive cars on the left. Trust the Swedes to do things different.

Nice pictures UK_Sub and Dirtbiker, very good to see. The 95/6's must be well chained down because packed so close-well,we all know how good the hand brakes are-NOT! I think these old pictures are brilliant. Now added to my collection - Thanks

Swedes began cautiously driving on the right-hand side of roads around the country at precisely 5am on 3 September 1967, following a radio countdown.

It was a Sunday too, to minimise the amount of traffic on the road at the time.

Unlike the old story of the country contemplating a change to driving on the other side of the road, which announced that cars would change over on a given date and, if it was successful, buses and lorries would change the following week !!
