I was watching these (purely out of interest) - kind of floored with the final sale price

Time to dig out any you might have hidden in the back of the garage!!

$5000...wow!!!
I have a set of these on my car.
I've just checked, stamped 23820 like the ones sold....

I think, though I'm not sure, that all the late late GL models, had these wheels fitted.
I was at a small SAAB museum in The Netherlands in 2017, and the owner there said that my wheels were worth about 1800 euros....
I doubt they would make $5000 (or ££ equivalent), in this country, on say E bay.

May be I should sell them, I've got a set of steel wheels.....na, maybe not.

Hey Simon.
I'm still utterly gobsmacked at the value of my wheels!

Basically a bidding war between 2 people from $2200 so IMO not a true market value. Read back through the comments. This sounds more sensible even if they aren't originals.
Quote from BAT "I just exchanged emails with Don Levesque. He said he will be getting in six sets of Ronal type wheels for $1450 per set. Price includes SAAB logo center caps plus the 20 lug bolts. He requires a small deposit."
Who is currently making the copycats?

Derek has a point, strange though that the bidder (Pilott) who got in touch with Don Levesque about the copycats, then kept his foot in on the bidding

Even if the BAT list is for originals, are they really worth nearly 4 times the copycats.....

You're correct, a bidding war between 2 people.
The 1800Euros that the chap in NL told me, is probably nearer the mark.

You can buy a brand new set from Compomotive for about £1600 and they a far stronger than the Ronals which are prone to bending!

Aye, aye Alex.
That motor that you sold me is still going strong!

Yes, I buckled one of my Ronals on some pot hole somewhere, and the alloy wheel man had a devil of a job to fix it, because of the large 100 mm diamter in the centre. He did manage it in the end.
