I've noted a thick GREY wire in the boot with a female spade terminal; it is part of the original car loom.
My car is a 76 model, I wonder if this wire is for a HRW should one ever be fitted. The x-section of the wire is bigger than anything else, hence my logic.
Cannot confirm the above via a wiring diagram, hence grateful if someone can advise.
LHD vehicle for 1976 had the HRW, but not RHD. RHD with HRW from 1977 or Aug 1976 onwards. Download the Workshop manual from Melle's site saabv4.com and you will find the wiring diagram showing HRW Switch, HRW relay and the Grey cable which is rated 2.5 going to HRW and same to earth.
