Hello,

I'm going to overhaul the OE Bosch starter motor as part of my project, before doing so are there any alternatives that folk have used.

Just considering the options.

Thank you.

Richard.

I bought starting motor on E bay some years ago. Smaller, lighter, than the original, (Therefore easier to fit). I fitted it about 2 years ago, and it's been fine.
Problem is I can't find the details of who I bought it from, except that is was definitely on E bay.

Many thanks for that, Andy.

When I removed the starter, I was surprised at just how big a unit it is and thought this could spin a truck engine !!

Hence my reasoning for an equally powerful unit but not so bulky.

I did think hi-torque, but very expensive. In addition to that, using an electric fuel pump the car fires immediately hence the starter motor is not having to turn over for any length of time.

I will have a look and see what is out there - if no luck, at least I can have my unit overhauled.

Regards.

Richard.

I found the details of my starting motor order on E bay.
From 2014.
The item number is below, if you contact them, (They do seem to still exist), they may be able to help you.
I doubt that you will only pay £45 for one today though....
