| Fitted the material to the 'tonneau/bed cover' which looks a little smarter, shame about the rest of the car ;)

| A few more photos of the trip;
Letting the train take the strain
First pit stop for some coffee, looked like the big fella is a permanent fixture
Spotted this for sale on the way (only old Saab we saw until Germany)
First stopover in Oudenaarde at the bike museum
rained on Saturday
But the sun popped out again in the afternoon
Took the car ferry on the last evening in Germany
Trying out some new rims
Drove through the Menin gate on the way home

| Trying to get to the bottom of the continued petrol fume smells eminating from the pickup. So thought I'd watch the tank as I filled it up, as it got towards the top, I noticed some splashes appearing on the wall next to the tank, then a full on leak of petrol running along the lower edge of the tank!
I still couldn't see where it was coming from, so decided to remove the tank and have a proper look. So with the car jacked up and a 40ltr trug positioned under the car, I emptied the tank and took it out of the car.
With the tank out of the car, it was fairly obvious where the leak was coming from, it looked like there had been a repair (possibly filler) made around the base of the breather tube. With it removed, it looked like this...
Check there weren't any other leaks by dunking in the bath, thankfully no bubbles! Then I filled up the tank with water - so I could feel safer when it came to soldering the joint! So with some flux applied to the joint and some solder in place, I approached the tank with a gas torch!
and here is the result...
I then emptied out the water and did another dunk test and all looks OK, so the next stage is to stick it back in the car, fill it up and watch for any leaks, but hopefully I'm in the clear!

| Good one Simon!
You look like a pedlar with that crowd around you in the Dinslaken pic. ;)

| Every time I opened it, people would appear from nowhere - probably a bit disappointed there weren't any Saab goodies for sale! | |

| Noticed my throttle linkage was pretty sloppy, so ordered a new linkage kit from Fast Road Cars.
This is how it 'performed' previously... https://youtu.be/6gyvzfWaJms
And how it works now... https://youtu.be/16iBVGxH3_U
Much improved, although where the arm sits in the heater box leaves a little to be desired!
Did I see someone producing a replacement for this - using 3D printed 'top hats'?

| A rubber grommet should do.

| If someone gave the dimensions of the shaft, and the hole in which it fits, I have access to graphite impregnated nylon bushes of a whole range of sizes. Obviously it's time I got my own car :) | |

| Took the sender out, as I have a better one, and found this sitting just below the opening!
As far as I can tell, it's a milk bottle top, how it got in the tank is anyone's guess!
