Glad it's noticeable.
Thumbs don't hurt as much now.

Yes.
I bought a cheap one off the bay.
It didn't fit properly and then I broke it.
When I do the rear screen I'll try and make some of my own fittings and tap a new hole for a grub screw to hold them in.
The original one only held in on one fine thread and then sheared.

Are you happy with the insert? It looks a bit wide, so maybe that's why your thumbs hurt. Source?

I bought an insertion tool from Frosts.
Did you replace the rubber surround? If so where did you get it from?

The insert is about 1mm wider than the original and a slightly taller profile, but hey I like a bit of "Bling", especially as Amber Gold is not my favourite colour.#129314;
The rubber screen seal is original and I probably should have bought the tool I have from Frosts for better quality.

I lost the photobucket pictures which were on this thread but have attached a photograph of the windscreen insert now after nearly 3 years. There is no appreciable difference in appearance between the front and rear screen inserts.

Has anyone else had this experience and if they haven't where did they get theirs from?

Cheers

The problem I have is getting the little joining piece in without damaging it.
