Guys

I have a slightly strange request to make.....a bit long winded, sorry...bear with me.

I'm interested in the history of my Swedish imported 96. I have some knowledge of the car's history, since it came to the UK in 1985, having met a previous owner, who owned the car for 15 years, at the 2014 Bristol show.
I now turned my attention to it's Swedish history between August 1978 and May 1985, when the car was imported to the UK.
I posted on the Swedish SAAB Klubben site, to find out how I could search its' history in Sweden. I immediately had a couple of responses, and was directed to the State Archives, who confirmed that they had 5 documents for the vehicle. I paid 300 kroner, and 3 days later an A4 envelope dropped through my front letter box, from Sweden. Eat your heart out DVLA!! Really good service.

To cut a long story short, the documents showed the first owner, (whose name I already had from documents that came with the car), and two change of ownership. The last one, in February 1985, being to a chap who was obviously British. He has an unusual family name, and I'm pretty sure I've found him on LinkedIn.
Here's my question. I can't contact this guy directly via LinkedIn, because I don't have the Premium Service. I see no point in taking it out, since I am now retired, and no longer looking for work.
Is there anyone on the forum who has the Premium Service on LinkedIn, and would be willing to drop this guy a line on my behalf?

Why don't you simply try and connect with him? You can customise the text of your invitation.

Tried that, no response.
He doesn't know me, which is probably why he hasn't responded.

He may of course, hardly use LinkedIn, which would obviously mean that an Inmail wouldn't work either, but I'd like to give it a try.
I thought a direct Inmail, where the nature of the reason for the contact, could be explained, might be better.
You can't send an Inmail, unless you have the Premium Service.

Just a daft idea!!

Not in the UK.

A few in the US, a few with blank pages.
Since the car came from Sweden to the UK, I'm sort of assuming the guy is a Brit, but I could of course be wrong.

Glad you got back OK.

192 is another possibility if this LinkedIn thing doesn't work.
