I've been preparing the '69 95 for state inspections, and noticed that the lower bushings I installed barely a year ago are already cracking and weathered, particularly on the passenger side (near the exhaust pipe). This seems abnormal and unacceptable, particularly given the pain of replacing these parts.
Can somebody recommend a supplier that sells decent quality bushings that will last? I don't remember where these came from (I had ordered a pair from Skandix, but I'm not sure which side of the car got these).
If the bushings for the 95 are the same as the 96 & Sonett (believe they are?), then Powerflex makes polyurethane bushings if you want to do something other than the OEM style rubber bushings. I made my own polyurethane bushings (including the center bushing on the rear axle which is not available in poly anywhere), so you could go that route too. Or standard rubber from Skandix, as you mentioned.
Follow up: I don't know where I ordered them from, but I got a set of bushings manufactured by Vollig and these fit better and seem more resilient than either of the bushings I sourced mentioned above, and are holding up fine.
