Just seen this photo on Instagram from the Festival of the Unexceptional. I notice a Late Saab 96 in the background and wondered if it was anybody here? Just interested because it looks like a good event. PS : sorry about the Yellow Metro blocking the view.
I agree that a Saab is not bland, I think the festival celebrates the forgotten or perhaps "unloved" cars from our past. The 2CV is another car that is not unexceptional. The event appeals to me because many of these cars I haven't seen since my youth.
I have always liked the look of this event for the same reasons as Stevebod. I don't think they mean that the cars we love are bland - just that they are not Ferraris! Kind of like how Top Gear (a program about cars) is not actually aimed at people who like cars...
