Hi Guys,
Quick question, do you normally replace the plug from the block that is knocked out when the balance shaft is driven out.
If so where are they sold,

Cheers,

Barry

Just hammer the balance shaft out (with a soft face mallet of course) and the plug should come out undamaged with it. Make sure the shaft doesn't catch on the webbing inside the block.

Low oil pressure issue.h
Engine out, I can’t feel any significant play in the balance shaft. I have removed the oil pump and clearances are within spec.
Does anyone.( probably Melle ) know a free length for a new pressure relief spring or a load / compression chart.
Thanks,

Barry

I don't have any details on the spring. I've never bothered replacing one if the pump was within spec; if not I replace the whole pump. Low oil pressure due to a bad spring is unlikely I suppose (unless it's broken), I'd definitely check the other bearings as well.

My Low oil pressure cause found.
Worn rear balance shaft bearing, front bearing was fine so negligible movement on the front pulley,

Cheers,

Barry
