| Hi,
Can anyone suggest a source of these:
Number 4 on here:
I think the thread is #10 UNF.
Does anyone know if these are a 'thing' available in the wider world or are they just something SAAB used to hold headlights in place...?
Cheers

| Hi Dirtbiker ! Good question, this is a turned part. I work in industry and will check if some of our suppliers provide that kind of parts. I'll let you know. | |

| A quick Google search for "knurled nuts" and "thumb nuts" gave quite a few hits for metric sizes but this was the closest in UNF - https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/00256875 .

| The 'Type Bas' are a closer match to the originals, but again metric thread.

Just found these in the spares stash, don't think I will ever get round to using them. I can't be certain they are what you're after, but they look about right. I can send these down to you for you to see if they're right. Are you still at same address?

| Hi Gareth, they do appear to be about 14mm, I'll get one in the post to you. Very jealous of your 95 from America, I didn't realise you could buy them without rust. All the 96s I've bought were mainly rust.
Hopefully there might be Swedish Day in October. Take care

| Thanks - it would be boring if we didn't get to practice our welding skills though! | |

| Hello, Dirtbiker: You might try the following 2:
1. Look at Saabnet.com>select Saab Bulletin Boards> scroll down & select Vintage Saab Models> type in search box: Headlight Trim Ring Screw 3D Printing>Press Search> view posting by hmssaab, dated 2/21/2014
2. Try Don Levesque at dwlgrl@comcast.com
I think each of these 2 fellows has ordered thumbnuts or may have good info on how to acquire them.
Good luck.

| Digger - Thumbnut arrived. Looks perfect but haven't tried it yet as the interior of the 95 is on the bonnet - found some welding to do! Thanks for sending it!
elanwannabe - I will have a look at those threads now, thanks!

| Hi elanwannabe,
Had a look at the Saabnet thread. Turns out I had already purchased the plastic pegs from Shapeways from hmsaab. Looks like the thumbnuts are still under development but I suspect they need to be metal as the thread on the pegs is a bit roUgh and needs to be 'cut'. I did find some UNF thumbnuts in the US but I have ordered the M5 ones from ebay and will see how I go.

| Saab P/N 7246630. Used on USA Headlights qty 6 as above. Also used on early round dash clock in Saab 95 Qty 2-48000 ChNo. and Saab 95 Fuel gauge Qty 1. My reserve stock as below and said dash clock for ID. The thread is M5 x 080 which is very close to 3/16in UNF which is slightly smaller. The USA headlight bezel screws are p/n 7867864.

| Hi Woody, Thanks for that - I picked up some M5 ones off ebay as they were more readily available. They seem to screw on to the reproduction plastic screws nicely although I haven't tried them on the car yet. Cheers
