I now have a fully restored and roadworthy 1972 Saab 96v4 complete with the original seat belt anchorage system - quite innovative and typical Saab in the days of my new 96's I had forgotten however how tiresome and untidy the belts could be. Can anyone please advise me if they have changed theirs and/or could recommend a supplier.
I recognise the new belts would not meet the aim of true authenticity but would be willing to carry out the conversion none the less.
Not sure when they started fitting inertia reel belts, probably around the mid seventies. If you post on the Parts Wanted section on this forum, and the UKSAABS site, I'm sure you can find a pair.
If you need the details of someone who can refurbish inertia belts, let me know, and I can send you the details of an outfit that I used to refurbish my belts.

I no longer have a 96 but there are some pics showing the clip type belts on Zagato's car here. I'm sure others will be able to add better pictures. Someone might also have a set available for sale.
Hi Andy, I noticed your reply to my post regarding retro-fitting inertia reel seat belts to my Saab 96 and your offer to let me know of a suitable supplier. Any help in this regard would be appreciated. JMat99
