Getting the bonnet prepped to go back on, happy days as its the only bit that doesn't need any real work on it, but the bushes and other bits that make up the hinges either side are missing. Does anyone have any spares or for that matter a piccy they can upload showing how it's supposed to operate so as I can copy something? Primitive lathe tech is available :)

This old post covers the components, so you can check what might be missing. Some of my images are not showing so will see what can be recovered. ADDIT - It appears I have deleted some images of the bonnet hinge from Photobucket. Curiously I seem to have deleted them from my hard drive too ??

Cheers! I have found one of the nylon bushes; I have various billets of nylon so will get on the lathe and bang some bits out.

I have just discovered on mine that the bracket where all the gubbry attaches to the bonnet is fractionally moving. Might be worth checking before you paint a bonnet.(Hood for those on the other side of the pond)

After I had resprayed the bonnet I made up a couple of the nylon bushes and one of the missing pins and refitted the bonnet. It's not bad considering the crude nature of the components, using some washers as spacers will get the bonnet lined up better laterally, sorting out the cavernous panel gaps at the scuttle end harder :)
