| Hello,
Pleased to say, that I'm almost there sorting out the wiring issues on the car.
With regards to the boot light, am I right in thinking that it stays on whilst the ignition is on / engine running ?? And that there is NO on / off mechanism such as a door style switch that operates when the boot is opened or closed ??
If it is the former (always on) then I will consider installing a tilt switch to operate the on / off when the boot lid is opened or closed.
Any insight, will be much appreciated.
Thank you.
Richard.

| Hi Richard, There should be an on/off switch which switches the light off when the boot is closed. There is a small plate by the left-hand hinge which presses against a sprung plunger on the boot light assembly to break the circuit. Haven't got access to my 96 to post a photo at present - anyone able to oblige ? Derek

| Hello Paul,
That's a very generous offer - thank you.
I am back to the car on Saturday and will be able to assess the situation better, in light (excuse the pun) of the earlier comments.
If you are happy to hold on until then, I can let you know on Saturday if I need to purchase.
Thanks again.

| Some images for ID. The first pic is from the Troll which is 73 model which has a separate plate for plastic bulb holder and contact switch. The beige arms are off my 72 model which has a different arrangement. The metal bulb holder is for earlier cars 1969 deluxe where it was fitted to the boot lid below number plate so it illuminated the floor. I put both in the Troll. In the early cars the bulb came on with the side lights and wasn't controlled by a courtesy contact.

| Hello Woody,
Many thanks for the photos - most useful and I have the set-up as in Photo 1.
The plunger is missing on mine, but I can craft an alternative and the job will then be complete.
Regards.
Richard.
