Hello,

Pleased to say g/box now extracted without too much fuss.

Q1 - reference is made to the needle rollers on the driveshafts. Can I confirm that these rollers are contained within the pair of end cups of each "T" shape part of the shaft, please. I cannot see any other possible location for them.

Q2- The through bolt that secures the rear of the g/box to the mounting, is that 3/8"UNC ?? Looking at the very helpful bolt & torque spreadsheet on the Forum, that is the impression I get.
What it does not mention is the length or if it is fully / part threaded.
Looking at some historical posts, 44mm length is suggested. I will be most grateful if the thread size, full or part thread and length could be confirmed, please.

Now comes the cleaning of the engine bay !!

Thank you in advance.

Regards.

Richard.

Q1: Yes, 25 needles per cup.
Q2: 3/8 UNC x 1.5", you can use fully threaded (I think the last 1/2" may not be threaded on the original bolt?).

Thanks Melle,

I presume it is worth checking that all the rollers are in situ, whilst at this stage of the strip down ??

Regards.

Yes, it is worth checking that each bearing cup has all rollers. Place cups on drive shaft and wrap masking tape across the T to keep them in place until ready for installation of transmission.
