Hello,

I may need a replacement right rear wing panel for my 1971 Saab 96 V4. Does anyone know where I might find one?

Rust bubbles have started appearing at the seam with the rear window panel and my garage think it may be quicker and easier to replace the panel rather than try and grind and patch the existing one.

I've emailed msaautobodies as I found their details in connection to body panels on an old thread on the UK Saabs website. However, their own website looks distinctly empty, so I'm not sure they're in business any more.

Rgds,
Bob.

Hi Joe & Andy ..

My garage have had a look at the rust and reckon they can repair without the need for a new panel. Thanks for our help.

Joe,

Many thanks for the info. I did subsequently hear from Mark Ashton at MS and he confirms they still do grp replacement panels for older Saabs including the 96 V4. I don't yet know whether I need one but will let you know how I get on.

Rgds,
Bob.

Also more googling shows Smith and Deakin with a 2017 price list online that includes all wings for 95s and 96s, though they specify 1975-1980 (but weren't they all the same for all V4 years anyway?) Their website is working and looks very much in business!

I remember googling this a few years ago and finding Honeybourne Mouldings which I'm pretty sure fabricated new fibreglass wings: I've just had a look now, the website isn't responding which isn't a good sign, but according to google they have a phone number and are open, last review a year ago, so it might be worth a shot. Joe.

Andy, thanks for the info ... I'll email you. No reply to my email to MSautos as yet.

Bob
As far as I'm aware, although MS Autobodies has stopped trading, the chap that owned MS, still has the moulds, and will, I think, make fibre glass wings to order.
I can vouch for his panels, I have 2 of his rear panels on my car. Look good, good fit.
I have his mobile number, if you E mail me, I can give you his number.
andydeans3, then gmail.com
(he may not want me posting his number here)
