melle | Posted - 12 Oct 2021 : 19:39:34 I'm pretty sure this is a scam: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133901145841?hash=item1f2d2156f1:g:MsMAAOSwnFBhZGlo The reg looks familiar, does anyone know who owns it? I've requested some photos of the VIN and the engine from the "seller".

Dirtbiker | Posted - 05 Feb 2022 : 19:13:01 Hi Gary, Welcome to the forum and sorry I couldn’t help with the bits you needed a while back Be good to see it on its own thread and be good to see it in real life once up and running as you are only up the road. Cheers Gareth |

FPP72 | Posted - 05 Feb 2022 : 15:56:59 Yes hello. I brought the car from a chap called Dean in Plymouth. He had the car for 7 years but it spent most of the time in a damp garage so not ding it a lot of good. He acquired it from some one whos nick name is 'cosmic the cat' but not sure where he is based. My first car at 18 was a 96 so wanted to put the clock back 40 odd years and have a project. It has been off the road since I have had it as every panel i took off another hole appeared. Slowly getting there and hope to be up and running by the summer. Will try and put a few comments and photos an a restoration post.
Thanks Gary |
melle | Posted - 05 Feb 2022 : 10:58:29 Hi Gary, and welcome to the forum. I also reported another listing to eBay last week, they seem pretty stubborn.
Where did you buy the car, or who did you buy it from if I may ask? It looks familiar but I can't remember where I've seen it before!

FPP72 | Posted - 05 Feb 2022 : 09:37:43 Hello All Just a quick note to say thanks for trying to sort the false ad for FPP353K. I am the new owner brought a year ago. Seems they have started again with the ad. I have been in touch with ebay to remove. Let's hope they get bored of doing it and find something better to do. Thanks Gary |
melle | Posted - 18 Oct 2021 : 11:47:35 And as expected, it's back: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174980699720

melle | Posted - 13 Oct 2021 : 12:28:53 Probably eBay, but I doubt it'll make any difference. The "seller" had 1000+ similar scam listings and I'm guessing eBay only removed this one. Just after I reported the listing they changed their user name, and I wouldn't be surprised if the same listing pops up again next week under yet another alias. green96v4 | Posted - 13 Oct 2021 : 11:56:34 been taken down (either by the "seller" or more likely eBay, they don't muck about anymore)
well reported Melle! |
melle | Posted - 12 Oct 2021 : 21:38:04 I agree, they won't be real bids. The "seller" has a good few other dodgy listings too, and loads of feedback, but none as a seller. I've reported the listing to eBay anyway, but thought the real owner may be interested to know an image of their car is being used in a scam. (And anyone interested in the car who googles the reg will now find this thread.)

Woody | Posted - 12 Oct 2021 : 20:34:58 The reg no. does look familiar. No one in their right mind would bid the current value without seeing, which makes me very suspicious that bidding has been manipulated/bidded up. |
