1970 96V4 "The Devil's Own V4" 1977 95V4 van conversion project 1988 900i 8V | 15 L A T E S T R E P L I E S (Newest First) | andydeans3 | Posted - 21 Sep 2023 : 18:14:00 Add that a Post 1976 approx, MGB Lockheed master brake cyclinder can be used on late model Saab 96s with the small filler cap Master cylinder. Be aware however that the MGB cylinder has an extra hydraulic port, that would need to be plugged off. There is a 4th port, that takes an electric switch, but it is not hydraulic.
Also the MGB master cylinder has M10 x 1 mm threads on the hydraulic ports, whereas the Saab cylinder has 3/8 UNF threads. So either remove the 3/8 UNF ferrules on the Saab pipes, and re-swage, or use cross over. Plugs and cross over are available on Fleabay.
MGB Master cylinders are easily available from many sources, and pretty cheap, whereas I think the Saab MC is more or less unavailable, as a new part.

He said "sure" so you have the green light! He's also offered the fuel sender repair presentation, not sure if it's his too, I've asked....

I like to honour that spirit by at least thanking the people who put in the work!
www.saabv4.com | green96v4 | Posted - 15 Jun 2021 : 15:04:43 Will do, I'll have to go find him on the FB page, although he was posting for the "good of the community" so I don't think he'd object
I'll figure out a way of connecting you, he may also get a lot of good use from all the resources on your site | melle | Posted - 15 Jun 2021 : 14:39:03 That's awesome Matt! There was an accompanying quick reference book, which I have and of which you can find a scan on my website (http://www.saabv4.com/index.php/ford-taunus-engine/ford-v-taunus-engine-quick-reference-catalogue/), but I've never been able to track down the full set of microfiches. I'd love to have this on my website, if you can bring me in contact with the person who scanned it so I can ask them for permission, that would be great.
www.saabv4.com | green96v4 | Posted - 15 Jun 2021 : 14:28:32 So this scanned microfiche was posted on a facebook group, maybe of some use to people looking for a part and needing a cross reference

Or you could try my double lip seals.
