| Does anyone know what colours the various bits and bobs mounted to the engine bulkhead (brake and clutch master cyclinders, brake servo, steering rack, etc.) should be? |

| Brake Master is zinc plated (most seem to be zinc/yellow, which I was told is 3x harder wearing than zinc/clear) any paint is going to strip fairly quickly with the slightest contact with brake fluid Servo - I've seen a lot in zinc/clear (most of which are rusty) but refurbishing and zinc plating is difficult as you can't really take them apart - most refurbs are painted satin black Servo mounting brackets - again zinc plated Clutch Master - zinc (I think it's a fairly common lockheed Clutch Master, using on Mini (?) Steering rack - was painted green, IIRC I used Almond Green (Mini colour) as it was pretty close and available in a spray can at Halfords Heater/Fan housing - fair bit of chatter about the closest colour match on the forum somewhere - I think someone said a Rover colour was close (Cambrian Grey?) mounting screws and clips etc, all zinc plated - my preference would be zinc/yellow for the the fore-mentioned harder wearing, and if some show judge was going to knock points off for the wrong zinc plating, I've shove their clipboard up their....

| they steering racks could have been black (I'm certainly not and authority on factory colours, more from research/brochures etc.) I found some green on mine when I took it off the car and cleaned off the years of gunk and grime, so went with that - I think I've also seen NOS housings advertised on Tradera in a light blue, knowing SAAB they probably just took them in whatever colour the manufacturer did them in that day! | |

| Years ago I found evidence that early higher ratio racks were blue, so I painted mine that way. All standard 2.7 racks have been pastel green. The grey I used on the heater housing was Hurricane grey. | |
