Morning,

What's the most appropriate thing for me to do to protect the suspension components on my 96? I imagine the 'best' is a strip down, re-bush and powder coat, but that's not on the cards: I'm looking for something easy that will just stop things deteriorating. The car only gets light use.

My idea is to use Lanoguard with a trigger spray: https://www.lanoguard.co.uk/products/lanoguard-moto-spray-top-up?variant=34597890523292

If what they say is true application should be easy: bit of a brush down to get rid of old underseal, then spray this stuff all over (they say it's safe on rubber) - only need to keep it off the brakes and that's it. And top it up every year or so.

Does anyone have any advice or experience on this sort of approach?

Joe

Joe,
I was advised by a restorer to use an American product called Fertan. It is quite expensive but quite economical to use. You simply paint over it.

Fertan is a rust converter, if you don't paint over it it doesn't offer much protection. I usually use Tectyl ML or Owatrol Oil, whatever is available. I've never used Lanoguard, but it should work as well I suppose.
