| Right then, Blue SAAB sold so in a couple of weeks I will be hiring a trailer and driving up to Ross on Wye to collect this one and bring it down to Plymouth.
I found these photos so thought I would put them on here to give you an idea what the car is like...
These photos are from a couple of years ago but I was up there a few weeks back and aside from a little more dust the car looks the same. The garage is bone dry which is a result. Engine turns over by hand and I reckon a weekends work would see it MOTd.
I will post again when I head up to collect the car.

| Looks good..a weekends work..that would be good. Make life easier for yourself in the long run..don't just start the engine! change the oil and oil filter, it's worth taking both rocker covers off and pour oil over both sets of rocker gear..remove the spark plugs..turn the engine over and over by HAND as many times as you can be bothered then turn it over on the battery. This will give the balance shaft bearings/camshaft bearings and piston bores a fighting chance.

Genuinely a weekends work! Well maybe a few...
When I put it in the garage it had a fresh ish MOT and was in daily use and up until about two years ago I started it and drove it around the block every few months.
I will definitely take your advice if I do MOT it though as well as flushing out the tank.
Probably though I will do some more involved work on it before the MOT - it could easily turn into a bit of a long term project...

| Do you have the carpets?..I may be able to help with a better set of seats as well..we will be in Plymouth before the end of summer (Sarah's family are Plympton based).

I don't think I do have the carpets - but I can't be sure, they might even be in the boot...
The seats would be a big help - The drivers seat is not too bad, it's not original - came from a car in a scrapyard many, many years ago but the fabric is really thin on the others.

| Trailer booked for tomorrow so dragging the Blue car Northwards with the old work van (fingers crossed!) and bringing the Green one to the South West.

| Picked up the Green car yesterday, turned into a bit of a long day... Van boiled over on the way to the trailer hire place, stood on the hard shoulder until Kate turned up with every bottle she could find in the house full of water!
Loaded up the Blue car and headed North – saw a Green 96 heading South on the A38 not too far from Plymouth. Here’s the van in Bristol.
Delivered the Blue car to continue it's journey on another trailer. Did a few bits in Ross then loaded up the Green car for the return journey. Here we are at the petrol station.
And here is an action shot over the Severn Bridge!
Got home late last night and had to get the trailer back for 9 so early start this morning - got the car half in the garage, had to leave it and take the trailer back with the door open and the access lane blocked...
How to get it in the garage (up a slope?) Pinched the battery off Kates Clio, took Johns advice with oil and hand turning and fired it up! Idles nicely but pops and backfires under load - enough to get in the garage though!
Did a deal on the Blue car for a pile of cash and:
One of these
One of these
A box of these
And a couple of these
Not much will happen on the car for a while as busy with other things but at least it's here!

| Those vacuum plates for Webers are like rocking horse manure! I spent ages looking for one before I managed to get an S&R manifold complete with vac plate!

Not specifically for Weber, standard on the 1977- 95/96 with solex TDID 32 carb. Should not be so difficult to find in S or NL.

| Yep! That's the one! I know its not exclusively for Webers, but that's what its most commonly associated with.
I tried for ages to find one in the UK, before I finally got a manifold that came with one!
