| Great work. Repairing small patches is so time consuming. Having the same issues on Betsy, but I started at the back. I’m posting occasional pics on FB as it’s easier to upload. I’ll say to you what I keep having to tell myself ‘ keep plodding away, the end will eventually come’

| Hi Gareth The garage is full of all sorts of stuff, mainly Saab bits including Dennis’s engine gbox and a new (to me) pair of doors And I’m not the tidiest of creatures. Don’t forget to tell me if you are up this way in August Cheers

| Well I've got a bit more done:
Including removal of 50Kg of filler from various locations.

I've been having to do things in sections due to working outside and dodging the rain. e.g. front n/s corner.
The 2 pack epoxy has only been brushed and roughly sanded just to stop instant rusting.

I've, winched the car into the garage now while it was still on the lift, it worked ok. I've bought a gazebo which should arrive on tuesday with a view to working on her over the winter.Neighbours will love it.Lets hope it winches out again OK I separated the engine from gbox now in order to make room.

I took the windscreen out yesterday as if every other bit of the car was rotten or filler I was expecting this to reveal more trouble , but nothing.

I may start doing some work on the engine soon, The exciting bit.I have a S&R front box, crank and pistons, together with a spare head and block which I may try and try and port/tune.
I'll post some pictures of her in the gazebo when its up , probably including me trying to stop it taking off in the wind or fighting with the neighbours. Cheers

| I’ve got a portable/temporary garage from Machine Mart and serves its purpose very well. Got the Saab in the garage as it turned into a bigger than expected project. Keep up the good work, appears never ending (or is that just me?)at times. | |

| Managed to remove all the windows now, without breakages. managed to save front and rear screen seals but had to cut one side window seal and the other side sort of disintegrated on the last bit of removal.

Just another bit to repair

Gazebo performing well, installed a "gutter" between garage and gazebo but still some water ingress at ground level at sides/corners but that's due to having removable sides not like Betsy 67's full garage but I don't have enough space for one of those, well not of sufficient size
I have now taken off both doors for replacement managed to save two window seals ,one outer and one inner. The inner nut, holding the lower hinge ,to the near side door had been put on cross/threaded and was a sod to get off, in fact I cut a piece out of the door eventually.Unfortunately both the nut and the threads on the hinge are damaged so I,m looking for a replacement hinge.Anyone have one? Cheers

| Well I've done a bit more. Removed the wiper mechanism and cut out some more bulkhead.

I have managed to save the climate control system I hope.I've rust treated the inner opening for the fresh air vent situated in the air box and cut a piece to surround it though not fitted yet. This must be a massive source of water ingress. Its like something off a Morris 8. In fact I'm not sure whether to remove it altogether yet.I suppose I could replace the heater duct with one from a later model but then I would have to change the control leavers/internal ducts which I'm not keen on doing. Cheers

| Nice to know someone is experiencing the same ‘pain’ as me. Know exactly what you mean about posting pictures. So much easier on FB. | |

| Hi Yes it is. I'm on facebook but I don't contribute anymore. I joined it years ago just to upset my youngest daughter(and succeeded) but got fed up with reading every little details of peoples lives including what they were eating.I also briefly became friends with someone who didn't exist when I was on the parish council. So in the end I left but joined again early this year just as a "voyeur" and am a member of various Saab pages. Cheers
Cheers

| I’ve been progressing and even though I have spent a lot of time in the garage I only seem to be progressing at a glacial pace.

Cut out top of wheel house and lower bulkead within wheelhouse
I have now completed the bulkhead/firewall well, welded it up. It has been difficult to decide how it should be put together as it has had so much work done on it previously.

Lots of filler and overlapping bits. I’ve cleaned up the fresh air vent flap and lever while I was waiting for some seam sealer to go off inside the scuttle. I ordered from the bay some 6mm thick neoprene to make a new seal for it. I wish I had looked at Melle’s truck project before I started the bulkhead but didn’t think I was going to have to go as far as I have, lots of informative pictures in those posts. I can see from the pictures that the vent is housed in a raised pressing, I don’t think it’s for strength but to keep water ingress away from the vent. Due to the previous work being done there was no evidence of it and I have again just fabricated it flat, so it’s fingers crossed. I may even seal it.
Ane exciting picture of a air vent flap.
Aperture for fresh air vEnt but in a laeel plane of bulkhead.
I have just started the off side lower windscreen /scuttle curvy bit, so slow to fabricate . I’m not expecting perfection but I would like it at least to be in symmetry with the nearside

Cheers
