Any tips on re-fitting a new silencer on the 95 would be much appreciated. There appears to be various pieces of furniture in the way, especially at the back of the car, so rather difficult to get the silencer to line up with the pipe. I tried dropping the pipe down at the centre bracket, but this didn’t really help at all. I’ve given up for the day, but would like to have another go.

Did you remove the wing and the bracket for the mudflap? And is it a standard exhaust or a Jetex?

I would compare the old and the new parts. I often found replacement exhaust parts were slightly different than the original one, thus causing troubles. Some pipes might need à little tweaking. Also, I don't use parts from several suppliers.

You’re right Simon, next step is to remove the mudflap bracket, which really is in the way. So it’s just a straight forward swap, like for like, swapping the old exhaust box for a new old stock item. They do look completely identical.

In the end completed this job in less than an hour. Removed the bracket holding the mudflap, dropped the rest of the pipe on to a couple of old tyres. This gave me access to attach the new silencer. Hung it on the rubber hooks, attached a new clamp. Replaced the mudflap bracket. Many thanks for all the helpful advice.
